Christmas is nearly upon us and we know how hectic it can get so we have made this years hunt for that special gift that little bit easier!
Dale and the team recently completed a re-decoration of our downstairs gallery. With a new lick of paint, and a touch up here & there we celebrate the transformation by welcoming some new specimens into our collection. A remarkable 12 million year old fossilised Sea Urchin bed, a rare Turonian Ammonite block, the re-introduction of one of our most elegant Palm Fronds ever, and a staggering 24-piece Fossil, Crystal & Mineral Sphere collection have all come together to breathe a new lease of life into our Pimlico home.

On a recent trip to Southern Morocco we were fortunate enough to not only select a new Trilobite collection but also witness these 360 Million year old creatures being prepared. With equipment that would flatter most dentists and the patience that could match a Shaolin Monk these extraordinary craftsmen are amongst the finest fossil preparers in the world. Hours, days and sometimes weeks of preparation time can be spent on just one fist sized Trilobite if the piece spectacular enough. Read more…

We’re very proud to announce that we’ve been helping our friends at Candy and Candy with their egg for The Faberge Big Egg Hunt.
Here is a sneak peak at some smaller sized wonders that will be joining our website over the next few weeks. This new collection includes a 10 Million year old perfectly preserved Crab, the radiant coral-like mineral Aragonite, the beautifully peculiar Pyrite & Calcite flowers and a muscle making 13kg Meteorite Cube from Sweden.

What better way can you symbolise christmas by having two Ice Age Romanian Cave Bears standing proudly in our festive window display??!
To find a complete Cave Bear skeleton itself is something of a rarity but to come by two at the same time is a first for our collection. These grizzly 8 foot beasts originate from the Carpathian Mountains in Romania and are believed to be 10,000 years Old. Here are some shots of our team setting up these remarkable creatures.

Limited Edition Dinosaur Prints

On the 5th of July 2011 we celebrated 25 years of business with the opening of our newly refurbished Pimlico Road Gallery. A private view evening shared with our loyal customers & friends was a perfect way to appreciate a staggering new collection that contains the largest and most impressive specimens to have ever ‘crawled’ into our Pimlico home.
During 3 weeks in May 2011 the Ammonite team worked endlessly to create a space that compliments our spectacular collection in the way it deserves. Here is an insight into the fun & games we have when moving these delicate 500kg monsters…
New Tricks Series 8 Episode 1: “Old fossils”
For anyone who didn’t catch it, the Dale Rogers warehouse was used extensively in Episode 1 of the new series of “New Tricks” this week, starring Alun Armstrong as Brian Lane and Dennis Waterman as Gerry Standing.
This episode (broadcast on BBC One, 10:35PM Mon, 4 July) was filmed on location in our warehouse and features some great shots of the pieces.
